Dear sir/ madam,
With due respect I would like to bring to your kind notice the purchase of a cell phone ‘SAMSUNG S DUOS REG NO AND MODEL NO ‘on the 9th of Dec, 2012 at around 2:30 pm from your store. The phone was purchased and put to use after due charging of the battery for 2 hrs. The SIM was inserted in the phone at around 6 in the evening. GPRS was activated from IDEA CELL PROVIDER at around 10 pm. The very next day i.e. on Monday we took the phone to our work place which is WIFI enabled. A few applications were downloaded in the mobile like few games, facebook etc. While using the phone a number of below written problems were encountered:
1. The phone was getting hung regularly.
2. Surfing the internet was not as smooth as it should be.
3. I compared the cell phone with one of my colleagues who are using a cheaper phone from Samsung but his phone was much faster than ours.
We thought may be a large amount of memory had been used that is why it is so slow so we thought to transfer apps from phone to SD card. But to our surprise phone was not reading the SD card (it was a Samsung micro SD card only). It was showing the matter the SD card had (very little of the space of SD card was utilised). We inserted another SD card of Samsung only but still the phone would not show it.
On downloading some applications from Samsung, the phone got struck once again and then playing any game became an irritant. We bought a phone worth 17100/- for calling and gaming purpose what is the use when it runs so slowly.
My wife was constantly telling me that she had compared the phone with that of her colleagues, who are using cheaper versions of Samsung or even higher but they are working efficiently. But I persisted that we give the phone another chance. The very next day (Tuesday) same episode was repeated again. But my wife had enough of it and she told me that either you come along to the store or else I will go alone. So we phoned up your store at alpha one mall and since the store is quite some distance from my house, the manager, Mr BHAVESH, there referred me to your another store located at Shivranjini Crossroads. I went there and met with a very helpful employee Mr Viren. While I was explaining him my problem, another salesman from this store examined the phone and said that yes this phone is definitely very slow and the performance is not up to the mark. THEY ACCEPTED THAT THERE IS SOME FAULT WITH THIS PARTICULAR SET. THEY SAID 1 IN 100 PHONES HAS A PROBLEM AND UNFORTUNATELY THIS TIME IT IS YOUR SET.
Mr Viren told me that don’t worry sir, we can do something. He told me that this is a Samsung policy that in case the customer is not satisfied with the phone or appliance, he can exchange the phone or will get a credit note of the same amount. I requested him to the needful and gave him all the accessories and bill of the phone. He assured me that he will try his best.
Sir I’m a doctor by profession, patients were waiting at my clinic still I ran up again to the store in the peak hours to return all the accessories and whatever needful was asked.
The next day I got a call from Mr Viren that the phone can’t be exchanged and the software has been updated. I met him and told him that this is not acceptable. When you buy such a costly gadget you don’t want to land up in a service centre within first 3 days and I cannot believe that this phone will work fine now. The store people said in case there are any problem further you go to the service centre. I can’t come to your store or service centre regularly. Hence you please change the set or refund the money. But he told me I should go to the Alpha One Mall store instead. I straight away went to the alpha one store and met Mr Bhavesh and Ms. Neeti. They clearly told me that service centre guys have updated the software and said that this phone is fine and I should use it. I told them once again that this is not done man, it has been less than 100 hrs and this phone is defective. But my request fell on deaf ears and they said they can’t do anything. I told them I can’t go to Samsung service centre regularly and you do something in this matter. But they were not willing to listen. In fact, Ms. Neeti told my wife in her own words that “madam even my phone went awry on the first day itself when I myself bought it but the software was updated and LUCKILY now it works fine.” When luck comes into play in these gadgets how can a customer believe technology which your company claims to have conquered.
Sir we used the mobile for bare minimum hours, basic time a customer would require assessing the phone. If your phone need to go to the service centre 3rd day or fourth day of the purchase what is the authenticity of your gadgets.
I request you to kindly consider the matter at hand and solve the problem. Otherwise I will have no option but to take your executives to consumer forum
